What Personal Data We Process

We only process personal data that is strictly necessary to manage your booking and communicate with you:

Booking data

Name, email address, telephone number, number of guests, and stay dates. This data is necessary to process your booking and prepare your stay.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your full payment card details. Stripe handles all payment data in a PCI-DSS certified environment.

Communication

If you contact us, we retain the content of your messages to handle your request and provide support.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal grounds (GDPR, Art. 6):

Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))

Booking and stay-related data are processed because this is necessary to perform the rental agreement with you.

Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c))

Financial records are retained for 7 years to comply with Dutch tax law (Belastingdienst).

Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f))

Communication records may be retained for a reasonable period to handle any follow-up questions or disputes.

Third Parties

We only share your data with third parties where strictly necessary. We work with:

Smoobu — Channel Manager

We use Smoobu to manage bookings from different platforms (such as Airbnb and Booking.com). Smoobu processes booking data on our behalf and is GDPR compliant. A data processing agreement is in place.

Stripe — Payment Processing

Online payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified and GDPR compliant. We do not store or process your payment card details ourselves.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

Retention Periods

We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected:

  • Booking and payment records: 7 years (legal obligation under Dutch tax law)
  • General communication: 2 years after last contact

Upon expiry of these periods, data is permanently deleted or anonymized.

Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

Right of access

You have the right to request an overview of all personal data we hold about you.

Right to rectification

You have the right to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.

Right to erasure

You can request deletion of your data, where there is no legal obligation requiring us to retain it.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request that we limit the processing of your data in certain circumstances.

Right to data portability

You have the right to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Right to object

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
